Default Best way to propagate guava?

Root cuttings? I heard this has low success rates, and the plant is weaker, due to not having a tap root.

Grafting: which style is best? Cleft, or veneer?

Airlayering? This also doesn't have a tap root.

I don't want to start from seed, takes too long.

Thanks!

cut stems and put them into a clean/moist mixture...like sand and a bit of soil.

keep damp and shaded...do maybe 20-30 stems and hope to get maybe 15 starts...
don't know what your concern about no tap root is, as it is not needed.

Great! I will try to root several cuttings? Is brown wood preferred over green?
Thanks!

i think you will have better luck with air layering since the branch will still be connected to the mother plant, but if you try rooting several cuttings you should have some success.

i have a Mexican Cream.
i see suckers coming up from it now and again.
last year, i decided to dig down a bit, and i grabbed some root with it.
i was actually able to separate it into 2 plants.
both are doing very well.
they are very healthy growing fast,
and even producing fruit.

This is the way to go for me.
