Black Bamboo Bambusa lako
First Bamboo..Got it today at the American Bamboo Society Caribbean Chapter show at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
Anyone is growing it or Bamboo?. Timor Black Bamboo Bambusa lako (clumper) Vendor info : A beautiful collector's bamboo. Culms emerge green and mature to a shiny black (almost purplish tint). Grows erect and arches at the top. Versatile in the landscape. Can be planted either as a specimen/focal point, in a row along a path/road/stream, or among other tropical foliage. From the Indonesian island of Timor. Slightly open clumper. 45' tall with 3" dia. culms. Min. temp 27°F. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

I had a couple, but the abnormally super cold winter killed it. Prob would have been ok if it was in the ground, but i had it in a pot outside.

Looks very nice! Just be sure to either keep it in a pot or put some quality root barrier around it so it doesn't take over your yard!
