Default Botanical Mystery?

This is not my plant or photo:

It's aglaonema 'Pink Star' which apparently can only be bought in England.

Botanists need to explain how the Hell this plant, with only 1% of its leaf area covered with chlorophyll, can do enough photosynthesis to sustain growth.

Default Re: Botanical Mystery?

Red leaves can perform photosynthesis just as green leaves can. This is because chlorophyll can use blue light, and that is not reflected by a red leaf.
