Party list of other "hardy" Tropical plants growing fast from seed

Hello everybody,
i love growing bananas from seed and i will always do but i'd love to start with some other species then banana, growing very fast from seed and giving the tropical (cold resistant) bedding in my garden.
For example i was thinking at gunnera, colocasia, Cyathea australis Rough Tree Fern, strelitzia, etc ( i excluded palms 'cause they usualy grow very slow)
I'd love bambù too but i think it's to slow the germination from seed, isn'it?
Could someone post a list of the fast growing tropical plants to start from seed?

thanks and happy new years from Italy!

Well here is a start for a list.

Colocasia

Brugmansia

Canna

Some others are papaya and castor bean.

My Strelitzia Nicolai is a really pretty plant but not that fast of a grower.

Oops just saw the "hardy" in the topic. I overwinter all the above inside.

Well the EE's and canna's don't take much room to overwinter. I just dig them up dry a little and put them in a box or tub and place in the basement. This is my first year for the brugmansia but the big one I have I dug, trimmed all the branches back, removed all the leaves, put in a 5 gallon bucket and placed in the basement. The smaller ones I think were too small to do that too are upstairs and kept semi dormant. We'll see how they fare. The bananas were either trimmed way back and put in the basement or kept semi dormant upstairs in containers.

I think Papayas grow relatively fast. The leaves can get huge too. THey germinate readily from the fruit too.
