Mexican cold Harry avocado seed wanted.
I am looking for avocado seeds to any Mexican variety. When you eat your grown fruit just save me the seed. I will pay for your trouble and shipping or trade. Any "cold hardy" Mexican types.
I know grafted is better but it is hard to get avocado here in TX. Can't ship live plants here and locally they are $79+. Thanks

Re: Mexican cold Harry avocado seed wanted.
If you can't find it some other way I think I can hook you up with Duke seed or grafted tree source. A lot of guys in ~southern Louisiana swear it is the best for cold hardiness and decent avo quality.

However, a friend (who has a chartreuse thumb because everything grows spectacularly for him) has 2 thriving saplings that were rooted from branches gathered from an established tree; they have yet to produce but are obviously clones. Me? Cheap gardener and collector of "good" stuff abandoned by the side of the road (green or not) would be cozying up to people with trees and requesting sticks.

Re: Mexican cold Harry avocado seed wanted.
I was at Aldi today. They have avocados on sale for 49¢ each; they had Mexican stickers.

Re: Mexican cold Harry avocado seed wanted.
Saxon Becbel & Sons grafts joey, lila, and fantastic in Texas. We have those 3 being sold at lowes here altough they were grafted in Texas. You may want to call them and see if they have any retailers near you that they sell to. These are the 3 cold hardiest retail varieties also.

Re: Mexican cold Harry avocado seed wanted.
Lowes may be able to get them in but I was referring to calling Becnel and inquiring into whether they sell them to any places in your area. They may be able to provide you the info on the closest nursery.
