I have crossed these for fruit taste and cold hardiness

Good project, Tony. There are some extra tasty ones out there. I have a red-fruited one that is (perhaps) a hybrid between our Honolulu yellow and purple varieties. My former red one was from Oka nursery, said to be a hybrid, it died, then later I found this new red one in a backyard and the owner did not know the source. Seems the same, great flavor, etc. A seedling from it had fruit that was 90% yel, 10% red, at least the one fruit I saw.

I have a cutting from the main red one, holler if you want me to make one for you.

No cold testing or natural selection for that. Ray

Gorgeous! If you could successfully get some that taste great and are hardy to to even the 20's I'd love to get some seeds. I'm just growing P. incarnata outside, but it's warm enough that I could easily grow some hybrids that can handle the 20's. Otherwise I plan for the rest of my future Passiflora to hang out in the greenhouses.

P.incarnata is the best there is that will take 20's. Some incarnata are better than others

Oh I know, it can take lower zones than I could even imagine living in. I'd just like to think it is possible to cross a P. edulis with the superhardy P. incarnata for a fun yet still hardy or semi-hardy Passiflora.
