The pics don't show the color very well but they had a silvery grey shade to them. I have no idea what they are. Nice looking on either side of the water fountain though! I think my phone camera lens had a smudge on it.

I can't tell if it has thorns but looks the same as the little one I found. Out in Palm Desert they are abundant according to an article I read.

That are also Robustas. If U enlarge pics U can notice redish hint on petioles and big thorns.

On the way to our picnic on the beach my wife spotted a Washingtonia Filifera just off PCH. I saw it too and I'm pretty sure it the right one. It's about 15 feet tall right now, and the fronds are noticeably more grey. Thick trunk, full circle on the fronds with little stringy deals. I didn't have time to stop and it was dark on the way home so next time I travel that way for fishing I'll stop and get photos.
