Default Raspberry (Mysore) looking for info for sS Gulf

I have a Mysore raspberry plant that I purchased last spring for a few dollars and left it in its pot. Raspberries usually do poorly in the North gulf coast area where I live. I was supprised that it survived the summer and I take a good look at the tag and it said Mysore. I planted it and it started growing almost like a weed. I found out the mysore is a shrub from Asia.

For the colder part of the winter I am thinking of covering its base with mulch. I saw on an earlier post that worm farmer has planted one. Any experiences or observations on the Mysore would be greatly appreciated. I also have an Austrailian raspberry that I planted a year ago that is still alive, but it is not happy.
