Trachycarpus Fortunei - How do you determine if male or female?
I understand that Trachycarpus Fortunei/Takil palms can be male or female. Does anyone know how to determine the sex? I have 3 Fortunei's and 2 Takil's that are between 2 and 3 feet tall and they have not flowered yet.

Re: Trachycarpus Fortunei - How do you determine if male or female?
U can allways use simple ping-pong ball test.
Put the ball on the plant and gentely shake it till ball falls off. If it falls of him its a male and if it falls of her it must be female plant Joke a side, Im afraid that U will have to wait till it blooms.

Thats funny. I was affraid that I would have to wait until they flower. Does anyone know when Trach Fortunei's start flowering (at what age and height)?
