Re: Baby Deer
Yeah, just gonna say...I don't believe white-tailed deer are ever that tiny. Pretty sure they are a good 1.5-2' tall when they are born. VERY cute, though!

Re: Baby Deer
Im sorry here is the information that came with the pictures
This tiny deer was delivered by ceasarean section at a wildlife hospital after his mother was killed by a car. Little Rupert, who is so small he can fit in an adult's hand, was born after vets failed in their battle to save his mother. At just six inches tall and weighing just over a pound, he is now in an incubator in the intensive care unit at a Wildlife Hospital . He has only recently opened his eyes. Rupert's mother had very severe injuries. They brought him out and got him breathing and then he went into an incubator on oxygen. He is now being fed by a tube. Staff are optimistic Rupert, now five days old, will make a full recovery. Deer are very, very tricky but this one has spirit. He's an extremely feisty little guy and quite pushy. |

Re: Baby Deer
Wow. I've always thought that they were born much bigger. Just like horses. How fast do they actually grow after being born? Bambi btw.

Re: Baby Deer
Yeah, they definitely are normally born quite a bit larger than that. And what...what? They have an animal ICU?? WTH?
