Half Dome Hike with son Michael
Had a great adventure hike with my son and some members of his Boy Scout troop this weekend at Yosemite National Park. The hike was about 17 miles with an elevation gain of about 4,700 feet (peaking at 8,836 feet).
Before tackling the cables to the top....note the traffic jam!!! The view at the top was awesome and weather was perfect. Note the mountain climbers just above and to the left of my right hand. |

Looks fun Harvey. I have a friend who lives there and yet I've never been. Go figure.

Re: Half Dome Hike with son Michael
Harv- You and Michael look great! These type of memories are gold when he is in his 20's and spending time with dear old dad is pretty far down on the to-do list. I also congratulate you on your physical condition. I'm afraid my hiking and backpacking days are long over.

Re: Half Dome Hike with son Michael
I'm in pretty good shape & work hard, but that kind of "good" exercise would blow me away.
Yeah Howard, I saw that pic of you in your running/hiking days & as Pete added, you looked like "run Forest, run!" LOL

Re: Half Dome Hike with son Michael
Looks like a great day. When I lived there, we usually ended up in the rivers in the bottom of the park, throwing flies, instead up on top...Sure is a different perspective.
..spending time anywhere, with your son is a worthy experience. aaron |
