Halloween is over, did you blink?

I just went to HD to pick up more trim
ALL of the Christmas stuff is out
Not a single Halloween item anywhere

Luckily I have a good supply of decorations
1st ones go up on the 30th !!

I harvested the pumpkin patch & a dozen pumpkins are out front
I still have 4 more growing

We lucked out

! Nancy's shop carries Halloween stuff right up to Halloween! The big stores only celebrate one holiday, "Let's make money, day". Try checking around for the little shops Dave

! Great way to support Free Enterprise, anyway!

Sounds like you'll do Great for Jack o Lanterns! Our pumpkins are flowering, just hope they set in time.

You picked up more trim???!!! That's what I've been doing all week...door jambs, hanging doors & trim. My big basement apartment project...I'm sooo sick of it. Wish I had time to decorate for all the upcoming holidays

This is a sad commentary on retail. It's a tough racket but I remember not that long ago poking fun because x-mas used to come right AFTER Halloween at retail stores. It's not even freaking October yet!

BRING BACK HALLOWEEN !!!!!! ...............oh and there's that THANKSGIVING thing too!!!! Not much to sell besides food on that one though.

Yep, lots of great stuff for Thanksgiving! Also, fall leaves, indian corn, cornucopias, fancy gords, & tons of great munchies

I put out the "Fall" decorations today with the help of my 3 year old son
Just pumpkins so far
The ghosts, witches, gargoyles & monsters will go out Thurs Oct 1st
Usually I have them all over the lawn, but I need to keep the area clear to get my truck back there

Years past we used to give out "The Big Bars" - big chocolate bars
Only about 40 kids every year
So I would buy 2-3 boxes & I'd get to keep (eat) the leftovers
That stopped last year since I'm out of work

The garden center I managed started with Christmas items in August, we just put it out bit by bit. The entire store was Xmas by Halloween, including all the trees (artificial) up for display and decorated. Live trees came in a week or so before Thanksgiving, thousands of them.

Ewitte's right! It's October 2nd & here's some really Fun stuff mom picked up, this afternoon, at a small shop! The cat, with a hat & it's mouth wide open, has eyes that light up & it makes eerie noises when ya stick your hand in for candy

The hearse is about 15' long
The Hulk is 8' tall & about 6' wide
The Gargoyle & Frank on the roof are about 8' tall
