Hello Banana Buddies:

This thread will be a chance for members to get to know each other, and answer a series of questions. The person who is answering the questions will then get to pick the next person to put in the spotlight, and so on. You cannot answer the questions unless you are chosen, and you must answer all of them, but feel free to have fun with it too.

It is best if you can copy and paste the questions in your post, and then just add your own answers, so people can easily read them. If you're picked and you really don't want to participate, you can choose to put someone else in your place and pass. Hopefully people will have fun with this though, and enjoy.

I will begin by answering the questions myself, and then picking the person who will be up next. People can feel free to comment on people's answers as well. Someone may have to notify the next chosen person, if they don't realize they are in the spotlight.

MY ANSWERS:

1. Why did you choose your screen name? What is your real name? (optional).............................What can I say - I love Hollyberry shrubs!!!! When I was a child, my mom grew this gorgeous specimen by the backdoor, and I was fascinated by it. It was always covered in bright red berries. I have four shrubs currently, but there will likely be more in the very near future. My real name is Sherrylynn, but pals call me Sherr or Sherry.

2. Why did you join IBS?................................because Beth made me crazy with envy when she started chatting about banana plants on another forum. Wanted to learn about them, and see if I could grow one.

3. What's your favorite banana plant?...................................Anything red, red, and more red! Siam Ruby is likely my favorite right now.

4. One thing people don't know about me is.................................I sponsor an 11 year old little African girl named Khadijah, who lives in the slums of Mombasa, and have done so for over two years now. I intend on looking after her until she can look after herself.

5. My hobbies are...............................indoor and outdoor gardening, cycling, chess, reading, story writing, seed collecting and germinating, plant experiments, cooking, baking, picture taking,
and hanging with pals.

6. Show a peek of yourself as a child (optional)........................... My bro and I.

7. My favorite food is...................................Chinese.

8. My zodiac sign is..........................................Aquarius.

9. One thing I really hate is.....................................people who abuse the defenceless ~ animals, elderly, and children.

No but seriously, I would have two huge greenhouses built, and a great big huge sunroom and porch, on a beautiful cobblestone house with tons of skylights for all my plants.

1. Why did you choose your screen name? What is your real name? (optional).............................Well, I'm not really short (6' tall) but I'm pretty scrawny (140 lbs) so yeah....and I'm a raver....and I'm a boi. It pretty much all adds up, right? My real name is Bryan.

2. Why did you join IBS?................................I was researching bananas on line and stumbled upon the JACKPOT...been here ever since!

3. What's your favorite banana plant?...................................Right now, my favorite one I have is probably my Super Dwarf Cavendish...very stocky and the leaves are very thick/leathery!

4. One thing people don't know about me is.................................Hmmm....people know most things about me....but I guess maybe people don't know I grew up on a farm in Iowa.

5. My hobbies are.....camping, dancing, hiking, anything with import tuner cars or electronic music, growing plants (obviously), etc.

6. Show a peek of yourself as a child (optional)...........................Um...don't really have any pics right now of that...I'm sure my mom would be happy to show you the photo album though...LOL.

7. My favorite food is...................................sushi!!! Most any kind (except sea urchin...so terrible!). I also like liver, brussel sprouts and tomatoes.

9. One thing I really hate is.....................................disrespectful and immature people. I mean, it's all fine and dandy if you hate the person you are, but don't take it out on other people!

12. If I had a million dollars, I'd........................................Well, I'd definitely pay off some school loans...I have FAR too many! Beyond that, I'd probably buy a nicer car (nothing too terribly ridiculous, but something flashy and fast) and save the rest for a house and a ridiculously massive greenhouse....oh, and plants!

13. One place I'd love to go is..........................................Europe! Especially Ibiza!

2. Why did you join IBS?................................Was helping grow 4 Blue Javas for 3 years. Dad bought me a Gran Nain and I needed to know how to take care of it. Found IBS while looking for info & decided to join! It's the first forum I ever joined.

3. What's your favorite banana plant?...................................Not sure but there is a cross between Zebrina & an edible cultivar that makes edible nanners! Whatever it's name is (don't remember right now) that's the one.

4. One thing people don't know about me is.................................Think everybody knows TOO much about me. Aint got any secrets left... That I can think of.

3. What's your favorite banana plant?...................................My first one - a NOID (No Identification) It's what 'hooked' me, and it's the blooming one in my picture - when it bloomed I was hooked!

4. One thing people don't know about me is.................................I like to believe all my 'dead people' live on the moon.

5. My hobbies are.....Sewing quilts, knitting, crocheting, scuba diving (yeah, that is a change from my homely interest), skeet shooting, gardening and cooking 'fancy food'.

(optional).............................Well, I'm not really short (6' tall) but I'm pretty scrawny (140 lbs) so yeah....and I'm a raver....and I'm a boi. It pretty much all adds up, right? My real name is Bryan. 2. Why did you join IBS?................................I was researching bananas on line and stumbled upon the JACKPOT...been here ever since! 3. What's your favorite banana plant?...................................Right now, my favorite one I have is probably my Super Dwarf Cavendish...very stocky and the leaves are very thick/leathery! 4. One thing people don't know about me is.................................Hmmm....people know most things about me....but I guess maybe people don't know I grew up on a farm in Iowa. 5. My hobbies are.....camping, dancing, hiking, anything with import tuner cars or electronic music, growing plants (obviously), etc. 6.
