Show your support for our friends in Burma
The people of Burma are suffering under the iron fist of a brutal millitary regime. As I write this, peaceful demonstrants and munks are beeing shot at by the millitary forces.
Show your support to the people of Burma tomorrow by wearing a red shirt.

Re: Show your support for our friends in Burma
Hi Erlend,
Yes, you are right. As you might have known of, a cameraman/reporter of our nationality was shot to death from a very close range. This may develope a great issue not only between Burma and our country, but also throuout the world. But the situation seems to be calmed down. Stan |

Re: Show your support for our friends in Burma
Yes, I think his name was Kenji. I remember because I have a japanese friend that's also named Kenji. Anyway, it's a terrible thing happening.
The situation may have calmed down a little, but I have heard reports of the government forcing civilians to perform counter-demonstrations on the military governments' behalf. This is just a play for the rest if the world. How tasteless is that?

Re: Show your support for our friends in Burma
Erlend.
He was not one of the demonstrators, so there was absolutely no reason for being shot from a very close distance. Burmese government insists that he was unfortunately shot by stray bullets, but this is clearly a lie because the video recorded the incident perfectly. It seems that the case has been calmed down by military forces, but the wrold must know the roots should be removed before the tree dies down. By the way, Erlend, I posted Bananas.org asking if the pollen of 3n(for instance Saba/Cardaba) is good for manual pollination for Sikkimensis(2n). But until today nobody replied, whether or not neglecting, not knowing, not willing or for any other reasons. My Cardaba? started blooming again and if it is good, I like to use the pollen next spring for manual pollination for Sikkimensis. |
