I'm glad you are okay. I never want to find anything like that in my yard.

Thank you. We get at least one or two snakes in our yard every year (we know of) because we have a canyon behind the house. I actually do not mind having them around unless it is a rattlesnake. They all take care of rodents, but we usually relocate them to an unpopulated wetland area.
We mostly get rattlesnakes, Gopher snakes, Garter Snakes and King Snakes.

It's a Ti plant and yep, a monarch. They're quite common here, much more so than our native Kamehameha butterfly, which I've never actually seen.

Planet Earth, Downstairs Edition. Green Anole vs. Madagascar Gold Dust Day Gecko. It ended well for the gecko, which broke free eventually.

Locally we have a heavy population of deer.
About ten go foraging through the yard a day.

These fellas will decimate your landscape in no time.
If it tastes good it is gone.
Note the tree in the center of the photo, the English ivy is stripped to a height of 6 feet.

Also note the temperature/date at the bottom of the photo....not prime for growing banana plants

Things box turtles can't do going uphill.

This mating pair of Eastern Box turtles got themselves in a real pickle

The male has fallen backward and his girlfriend is dragging him through the leaf litter.....Probably to go shopping.

The moles are pretty heavy this year in the yard.

Nice. Isn't that what Shirataki(sp?) noodles are made from? Are you able to overwinter them in the ground or do you dig them up in the Fall?
