This exact plant was shipped to me this spring. It has grown 9 feet of pseudostem. It's taller with the leaves. It is outgrowing some basjoo even in its first year.

Velutina is short at 6 feet overall height.

My Ornata Royal Purple has flowered at 4.5 feet overall height, but it is a newly transplant.

I had year old velutina seed sitting in my garage. I sowed it in my flower bed this spring and all the seed germinated! Mother Nature is amazing. Much better than I could do!
