Yeah, Sabarra are like that, it drives me CRAZY :-) I planted my first in 2011 as a 6' tall 7 gallon, and this year was my first decent crop, every year is better than the last.

Knowing I could and...

Re: broken leaves

Whew, then maybe I'm OK. Ordinarily by the time my plants flower and eventually give me fruit there are LOTS of leaves everywhere!

Re: What did you harvest today (other plants)?

I have two, a tropic sweet in ground since 2/2011, and a tropic beauty which I planted in 2013.

The first is a HUGE disappointment but the tropic beauty has given me 4+ dozen peaches so far this...

Re: broken leaves

Ut oh... I break that rule all the time. Is that like a life or death rule?

When I'm pruning I take off anything going over a neighbor's fence, green or not. I'll also take off green if it's growing...

Re: What did you harvest today (other plants)?

It's a MAJOR hassle. I have 10 coffee trees and I planned on having 12, one to satisfy coffee needs for each month but I stopped at 10 because the skinning, drying, roasting and grinding is such a...

Re: What did you plant today? (Fruit Trees)

Today I planted some more seeds from my Canistel, and Sapodilla a few pineapple cuttings, and a bunch of flowers to lure more pollinators to the bee food desert (not dessert) of Coral Springs...

Re: Edible Zebrina Rojo

Thank you very much!

Maybe it's the climate down here in North Broward? We have not had really cold weather here, but it's REALLY good to know it may be sensitive. Now that I know this, just to keep...

Re: Getting zebrina to flower?

Judging by my Zebrina growth habit, it took over a year to flower, and even LONGER to fruit.

Mine seems to be seedless and edible. See main discussion for pics. Mine is just now (one at a time)...

Re: Edible Zebrina Rojo

OK, nobody has an edible fruiting Rojo... pups are $1000 each :-)

Seriously, if anyone in So Fla wants cuttings, I'll be more than happy to give some away, but I DO NOT, and WILL NOT ship anywhere...

Re: Rooting pineapple

There are differing opinions on this, but when they start to give fruit I let them get as ripe as possible before harvesting because I have a dog that the vermin don't want any part of. If you have...

Re: Florida

I'm too used to buying bananas for less than $15 to pay that kind of money to a guy that has too many Mercedes payments to make :-)

I think I can live with plain old green leaves.
